ICx technologies, developer and provider of sensor detection systems, has announced the formation of ICx Cryogenics after reaching an exclusive distributor sales agreement with RICOR Cryogenic & Vacuum Systems headquartered in Israel.
In partnership with RICOR, ICx Cryogenics will serve as the US-based supplier of critical components for infrared, industrial and detection systems to ICx customers.
ICx senior vice president, Dan Manitakos, said, $quot;This arrangement is the first step toward establishing a US-based merchant supplier focused on delivering world leading cryogenic coolers at very competitive price levels.$quot;
RICOR is an established specialist in the design and development of Sterling cycle tactical cryogenic coolers that include rotary, linear and pulse tube coolers for infrared applications and it is this expertise which could ensure a sound technical service is provided by the new venture.
$quot;ICx recognised a need for cost-effective and dependable one-stop shopping for customers of tactical cryocoolers. Combining the experience and state-of-the-art technology of RICOR with the technical skills and distribution network of ICx will allow us to effectively fill this void,$quot; Manitakos continued.
ICx develops sensors which detect and identify chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive materials and has manufacturing and research facilities in the US, Canada and Europe. It also operates a division named ICx Photonics, providing advanced infrared photonic crystal devices to be integrated into NDIR gas sensing systems.
