Indiana Oxygen Company, the oldest gas and welding supply distributor in the US, has been named as one of the ‘Best Places to Work’ by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.
This is the third consecutive time that the US-based business has been bestowed with the award, which places it amongst the top 100 companies in the state of Indiana.
The recognition was awarded based on the company’s corporate philosophy, work culture, benefits, promotion potential, job security and surrounding work environments.
A statement from the Indiana Oxygen said that it was a “great honour” to receive the award and added that the “well-being of its employees is critical to the success of the company.”
Founded in 1915, Indiana Oxygen is an independently owned and operated four-generation family business. Its vision is to remain as the number one company in its marketplace and to enhance the work environment and overall lifestyle of its employees and surrounding community.
The company’s founding brothers Walter and John Brant helped coordinate the construction of Indiana’s first industrial gas production plant over 100 years ago. It provided compressed gas to one of its first customers, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, during its 500 Mile Race, eliminating the need to hand-pump every tire.
Today, Indiana Oxygen owns 11 locations across the Midwest US states of Indiana and Ohio.
