Dearman’s revolutionary transport refrigeration system eclipsed nine other inventions to bag the Innovation of the Year award at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.
The award-winning system is powered by the Dearman Engine, which uses the expansion of liquid nitrogen (N2) to deliver zero-emission, clean cold and power for the truck.
The Dearman transport refrigeration system has the potential to deliver a step change in the industry and huge benefits for the environment
In one of the most competitive fields, the judges decreed that, “Dearman edged out the competition thanks to the huge potential offered by its Zero Emission Transport Refrigeration System.
Now undergoing commercial deployment with the likes of superstore conglomerate Sainsburys, the judges praised Dearman’s ability to significantly lower carbon emissions and air pollution from a sector that generally has a large environmental footprint.
Toby Peters, Founder and CEO of the UK-based business, beamed, “The Dearman transport refrigeration system has the potential to deliver a step change in the industry and huge benefits for the environment. Unlike many clean technologies, the system has been designed without compromise, being able to deliver performance, efficiency and significant reductions in emissions.”
Hosted on 6th July at The Brewery in London, the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards celebrate the green economy’s most exciting and innovative achievements over the past year.
