The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) has announced its input into the draft law regarding hydrogen-powered vehicles.

In 2007 the European Commission (EC) is set to propose a new law regarding motor vehicles using liquid or compressed gas hydrogen.

JAMA has engaged with the EC on drafting the new laws by presenting it with a 'set of key messages' to be considered.

The key messages focus on efforts to coordinate research and development on the global technical regulations for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCVs).

Currently, the commission is undertaking similar initiatives to develop a global technical regulation (gtr) and international standards for HFCVs.
