The public engagement and comment period is now open for the Initial Project Description of the Ksi Lisims LNG project located at Wil Milit, northern Pearse Island, northwest British Columbia, Canada.

Proponents of the facility include partners Nisga’a Nation, Rockies LNG Limited Partnership and Western LNG LLC.

The comment period includes the public engagement period, open from 10th August 2021 to 24th September 2021 at midnight PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) or 7:59am BST, and virtual engagements, which will run for two days from September 8th, 2021, to September 9th, 2021.

The Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) is seeking feedback on the Initial Project Description, which describes the location and details of major components of the project. It will also provide members of the public an opportunity to decide how they’ll like to engage in future project review, providing the project proceeds to an environmental assessment.

Following the closure of the engagement period, a Summary of Engagement will be prepared by the EAO that presents key issues and concerns identified in Early Engagement.

It will also inform the partners on how to prepare the Detailed Project Description which, once submitted, will determine whether the project goes to environmental assessment, is issued an exemption or terminated.
