Motorists in Staffordshire, UK are being advised to expect long delays as a large, medical grade oxygen tank is escorted through the county.
Staffordshire Police will escort the 40 metres long tank on its five-day journey as it makes its way from the Cheshire border on Monday (15th June) through areas including Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stone, Stafford, Rugeley, Cannock, Brownhills and Shenstone – finishing up in Warwickshire on Friday (19th June).
In a statement, Staffordshire Police said this is the first of four similar pick ups over the next six weeks and the police force will be working with tree cutters and BT telephone engineers to ensure the load fits under trees and cables throughout the journey.
Staffordshire Police said the tank, which is 40 metres long and 6.5 metres in diameter, will be empty.
INOXCVA supplied the four tanks to Air Liquide back in July last year from KLandla Port, India.
