After months of preparation and much anticipation, the gasworld South & Central America Conference 2009 will soon be underway with the opening of the informal pre-registration BBQ and cocktail party.
Delegates from all over the world have made the journey to Santiago, Chile for this Latin American adventure, with the clock now ticking until the official launch of the conference tomorrow morning (13th January 2009).
Just hours remain until the conference, titled The Challenges Facing the Gas Industry in a Region of Opportunity, is opened and the Discussion, Debate, and Networking begins.
The event is organised to offer an insight into the current business demands and opportunities facing the South and Central American regions, which have been experiencing rapid growth of late and are likely to endure a number of challenges throughout 2009 as the economic downturn deepens.
Experienced industry insiders such as Spiritus Consulting’s John Raquet, Weldcoa’s Hector Villareal, The Linde Group’s Raghu Menon, and Rick Kowey of Matheson Tri-Gas will all be taking to the stage to present, while other independent luminaries will also be offering their insights.
Leading Chilean economist Michele Labbe, Copper and Mining industry insider Juan Carlos Guajardo, and independent gases business consultant Eduardo Pelitti will also be gracing the gasworld stage to share their views on both the challenges and potential the region encompasses.
The event begins proper at 9am local time in Chile, at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel & Convention Centre and with the aforementioned Ms Labbe providing the opening presentation of the day, exploring The Latin American Economy.
