Linde Gases, a division of The Linde Group, has announced it has been certified by the German Accreditation System for Testing (DAP) as a producer of gaseous ‘reference materials’, with regard to the company’s HiQ® calibration gas mixtures.

Linde Gases has achieved ISO Guide 34 accreditation, which provides the highest level of quality assurance and allows manufacturers to confidently state that the methods used to certify their standards are accurate, consistent, documented and validated.

Guide 34 defines reference materials as substances with a precise composition traceable to the International System of Units (SI) using accurate measurements.

As the DAP is a member of the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA), which authorises equivalent accreditation across many countries in Europe through its Multilateral Mutual Recognition Agreements (MLAs), the certification achieved by Linde has far-reaching implications beyond Germany.

Signatories to the MLAs mutually acknowledge each other’s accreditation systems, bringing significant recognition benefits to those companies achieving the high standards expected by ISO. Additionally, bilateral agreements between the EA and accreditation bodies outside Europe, allow DAP-certified companies to enjoy recognition beyond Europe.

“Linde is continually breaking new ground in the global specialty gases market,” said Stephen Harrison, Head of Specialty Gases and Specialty Equipment at Linde.

“We are proud of our competence and production quality and our HiQ® brand represents Linde’s commitment to the highest available consistency across our specialty gases ranges. We are delighted that DAP have recognised our efforts by awarding us the ISO Guide 34 certification”.
