Linde CryoPlants, a UK subsidiary of Linde Engineering and part of The Linde Group has announced the successful commissioning of a GAN900 cryogenic nitrogen plant at the Engro Chemical production site of Daharki, Ghotki district, Pakistan.

The current production site of Engro Chemical’s has a capacity of 975,000 tons of urea per annum. In 2007 Engro embarked on an expansion of their current facilities, which includes a new urea plant of 1.3m tons of annual capacity, thus forming the largest urea train in Asia. This $1bn USD project is expected to start commercial production in July 2010.

Linde CryoPlants has been successful in developing a cryogenic nitrogen plant that is capable of operating in an extremely challenging ammonia rich environment. The plant has a capacity of 900 Nm3/hr and will form an integral part of the offsite utilities, providing much needed high purity nitrogen gas for the manufacture of ammonia.

Mr Adeel Qamar, Project Engineer commented, “A group of highly professional individuals providing excellent services. If you are working with Linde, just sit back, relax and enjoy their state of the art plant.”

Linde CryoPlants has considerable experience in the supply of cryogenic nitrogen plants to the fertiliser industry and is ideally suited to this new facility.
