After European Union revisions to the CLP regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) Linde announces the main implications to customers.
CLP is the European Union version of the GHS (Globally Harmonized System for classification and labelling of chemicals) which is published by the United Nations. The new CLP regulation came into place on 1st December 2010.
Linde has identified a number of key implications to this new legislation;
1. The cylinder labelling system will change; new pictograms, signal word, hazard and precautionary statements will be shown on the cylinder labels.
2. The information requirements on Safety Data Sheets (SDS) will change; mainly with new classification data and new heading /sub-headings structure.
The Linde Group encourages customers’ requiring more information to consult the Linde Reach website.
