Linde Malaysia has become the latest business unit of industrial gas conglomerate, The Linde Group, to deploy advanced software for cylinder distribution optimisation.
Adopting Paragon’s Route Execution module, the South East Asian branch will integrate routing and scheduling software with real-time live data from inside Linde’s active distribution fleet.
The multi-drop route planning software will seek to create a more efficient schedule enabling 360-degree visibility, live feedback on resources in transit and across the distribution operation on the whole.
Si-Choong Ng, Head of Bulk and Cylinder Scheduling for Linde’s regional business in South Asia and ASEAN, explained, “The system provides clear visibility comparing plan and actual route details. This allows the operation teams to identify the gaps, and consequently the improvement measures. This will facilitate our organisation’s continuous improvement culture and programmes in the areas of safety, productivity and customer experience.”
Linde Malaysia is the first member of the Tier One corporation located in South East Asia to implement the system, although 37 other countries worldwide within the organisation have adopted the software already.
According to gasworld Business Intelligence, The Linde Group is the single largest distributor of merchant gases in Malaysia. Linde Malaysia currently operates approximately 60 production facilities and cylinder filling sites around the South East Asian country and it has plans in the pipeline to bring a new ASU on-stream in 2017 in Tanjung Kidurong.
