Linde North America scores on safety

Linde North America has just received Norfolk Southern Corporation’s Thoroughbred Chemical Safety Award for 2009, making Linde the eight-time winner.
Norfolk Southern, a key national transportation company, founded the award 14 years ago. Wick Moorman, CEO for the company, applauded Linde’s zero incidents rating for safely transporting chemicals across Norfolk Southern’s railway network, commenting, “We are happy to recognise Linde for its outstanding industry leadership in chemical safety.”
Linde North America transports the majority of its carbon dioxide rail fleet with Norfolk Southern and shipped a total of 2,100 railcars during 2009. The carrier operates for Linde depots in Alabama, Illinois, Iowa, Mississippi, Ohio and West Virginia.
Vice President of Supply at Linde North America, Fred Kinkin, stated, “Linde is very proud to be recognised again this year by Norfolk Southern because it recognises Linde’s continued commitment to safety, a critical factor in the industrial gases industry, and Linde’s most important core value.”
He continued, “This particular award acknowledges our focus on railcar safety at our plants and depots and the hard work and dedication of our employees.”
