The Linde Group has received an order from Wesfarmers Limited for the installation of a small scale LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) plant in the Kwinana industrial zone close to Perth, Western Australia.

The facility will be installed downstream of Wesfarmers\\$quot;s existing LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) plants and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2008.

The order value exceeds €40m.

The new plant will have a load-out capacity of approximately 60,000 tonnes of LNG product per year.

"This is another important step in taking part in the growth market of small scale LNG plants", says Dr Aldo Belloni, member of the executive board of Linde AG. "Regions not connected to the gas distribution system will be supplied to a greater extent with natural gas as a resource of clean energy delivered by small LNG plants. Especially in countries with remote areas we see great potential for subsequent projects."
