Linde receives innovation prize for mobile oxygen generator

Linde Medical Devices has received the $quot;Ei des Kolumbus$quot; (Egg of Columbus) award for its innovative, mobile $quot;Oxy-Gen lite®$quot; oxygen generator from the $quot;Stiftung Innovation$quot; foundation.

The innovation prize, which has been awarded by an independent jury for particularly useful and innovative products since 2004, was presented to Karl-Heinz Hecker, CEO of Linde Medical Devices GmbH in Munich.

The medical oxygen generator $quot;Oxy-Gen lite®$quot; uses electrolysis to produce high-purity oxygen from water. The hydrogen produced during this process is used to power an integrated fuel cell that serves to generate electricity. The device provides patients with chronic respiratory diseases with a source of oxygen that they can use at home. Unlike common oxygen concentrators, the lightweight and compact dimensions of the $quot;Oxy-Gen Lite®$quot; gives users a better mobility than any of its predecessors to date.

$quot; This award encourages us to continue to seek innovative solutions that can considerably increase the quality of life of our clients by combining different Linde technologies,$quot; says Prof. Dr. Hans Kistenmacher, Head of Innovation Management at The Linde Group.
