Linde China, member of Tier One corporation The Linde Group, has unveiled its new Mobile Welding Demo Centre (MDC) at the Beijing Essen Welding and Cutting Fair (BEW).

The inventive MDC is a mobile welding lab installed into a trailer – simplifying field preparations and allowing spot demonstrations and practical experiences.

The unit allows for the live observation of real-time welding arc changes, as well as changes to all parameters during the welding process and the operation of Linde’s shielding gases. The device also incorporates a manual welding manipulator for consumers to test and a cylinder collecting and filling zone, allowing different shielding gases to switch during the process.

The requirement for lightweight, energy-saving and high-performing industrial materials has been set, along with higher requirements for welding technology

A press release stated, “China is in its process of transforming to a strong welding country, so it is imperative to improve its welding production efficiency. With the rapid development of new technologies, the requirement for lightweight, energy-saving and high-performing industrial materials has been set, along with higher requirements for welding technology.”

It went on to say that through the introduction of the MCD, “Linde is able to emphasise its commitment to greater efficiency while capitalising on its advanced technology to help China’s welding sector explore different paths of upgrade.”

The 21st BEW is taking place from 14th-17th June at the New China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing.

Linde has been present in China’s industrial gas market since the 1980s and currently employs 5,500 staff and retains around 70 subsidiaries in China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. The company also has 200 operating sites in the main industrial centres of the North Pacific rim country.
