A tanker containing 38,000 litres of liquid nitrogen caught fire on the M5 near to Taunton Dean Services, Somerset, UK on Monday night.

Three fire engines, an environmental protection unit and a water carrier were scrambled to the scene around 9.15pm.

Upon arrival, crews found the tanker well alight and requested the attendance of three more fire engines for additional personnel and additional water.

After extinguishing the fire, crews stayed on the scene to monitor the trailer for perimeter cooling.

Police were also in attendance.
