The 18th international conference and exhibition on LNG is running throughout this week from 11th-15th April in Perth, Australia. Current and significant impacts on the world’s LNG industry are looming large, with the global event providing a stage for companies within the sector to shine.
gasworld is bringing you an exclusive interview with a major player in the LNG industry for each day of the conference. Today’s interview is with Bruce Ge, Managing Director of Hangzhou Fortune, who outlines why this event will be crucial to the Chinese outfit’s future growth.
Has Hangzhou Fortune exhibited at an LNG event before?
We attended LNG17 in Houston last year. These LNG events are the biggest exhibitions in the LNG line. Fortune Gas, as a process technology and liquefaction natural gas plant manufacturer, has been involved in the LNG plant business since 2007, when we built the first small-scale LNG plant in China by localised technology and equipment. These LNG events give us lots of information, not only about the business development in LNG, but also regarding the current technological trends as well.
What is Hangzhou Fortune’s involvement in the LNG business, and is this a role that you are hoping to expand?
These LNG events give us lots of information, not only about the business development in LNG, but also regarding the current technological trends as well
Fortune Gas is a process technology and LNG plant supplier. We mainly focus on small and medium sized plants, using both plate fin type and coil-wound heat exchanger cold boxes, but we are hoping to extend our process technology and equipment into the worldwide LNG plant business.
What challenges do you see ahead in the LNG sector?
We think that perhaps oil prices will continue to fall, potentially creating a worldwide lack of demand for LNG. Besides these worldwide demand problems and economic factors, we still need to promote Fortune Gas and its brand worldwide, in order for us to get our name out into the sector in general.
Why is LNG 18 such a significant event for Hangzhou Fortune?
Regarding the development of our company, we are still very young in the LNG business. Within the last eight years we have developed coil-wound heat exchangers and various related process technology for the LNG sector. We hope to express our brand and products to our customers, and to ease our customer’s minds about the development of the LNG line in such a difficult worldwide situation.
Why do you think LNG18 is such a significant event for the industrial gas industry?
In such a difficult time, everybody wants to know or forecast the future of the LNG line – the LNG18 event in Perth seeks to answer how companies can survive in this kind of situation.
