UK based, Luxfer Gas Cylinders donated a total of £3132 to help fund the running of the British Lung Foundation (BLF) events held over 2 days in Derby and Wolverhampton.

The company attended the Breathe Easy conferences and provided hands-on help with workshops, organisation and catering.

Members and supporters of Breathe Easy groups from across the Midlands attended the events as part of BLF\\$quot;s information exchange and support days, which is aimed at raising awareness and providing networking opportunities for both new and well established groups.

Caroline Johnson, BLF support and development manager for the Midlands, said: \\$quot;Luxfer's contribution to the events provide a much-needed resource both financially and in terms of hands-on help. As a charity run and maintained by patients and carers, Breathe Easy groups benefit enormously from the conferences, which help provide advice ranging from fund-raising to marketing, as well as an opportunity to meet together socially.\\$quot;

Start up grants
Luxfer recently announced plans to support the British Lung Foundation (BLF) by providing start-up grants totalling £1,250 for five new Breathe Easy groups across the Midlands.

Grants of £250 each for the five new areas - Buxton, Bourne, Newark, Retford and North Nottingham - will enable groups to find and book venues, to meet regularly and to set up communications networks, including newsletters, to keep members and their families fully informed and in contact with healthcare professionals.

Vicky Butler, Luxfer\\$quot;s European marketing manager said: \\$quot;People with lung conditions and those who care for them often feel isolated from the outside world. These new Breathe Easy groups will help provide much-needed support for members, as well as offering an opportunity for respite and specialist advice.\\$quot;
