Mack Valves, a leading valve and ancillary equipment manufacturer based in Victoria, Australia, has appointed a new agent in China, further extending its international presence across the Asia Pacific region.
Marking 70 years in business this year, Mack Valves has made its name providing fully engineered, reliable valves that perform safely in extreme conditions across a variety of industries.
The company has now appointed Silpac International as its China agent, complementing the company’s existing agents in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines - ensuring that Mack Valve products, spares, service and support are readily available to customers throughout the region.
Supporting customers throughout the world with a comprehensive array of products is nothing new for Mack Valves.
Its extensive product range includes cryogenic, automatic control, ball, globe, safety, relief, and ball float valves as well as sight flow indicators, flow switches and pressure reducing valves, for industries from cryogenic industrial gases and LNG to mining, food processing, steam and boiler manufacturing, water distribution, fire protection and power generation.
The company is also an accredited Australian government defence supplier.
“In addition to our comprehensive standard range, one of our strengths is our engineering know-how and experience enabling us to provide customised valves and special materials, within short lead times, designed to meet customers’ specific plant and flow and pressure control requirements,” Mack Valves Managing Director Michael Pearson commented.
As an example, Mack Valves recently supplied 250 and 300mm high pressure manual and actuated shut-off ball valves rated at up to 40 bar to BOC India, for use on the Rourkela steel plant oxygen gas systems.
The size and pressure rating for oxygen service required special valves, which were manufactured in bronze - rated for higher working pressures than stainless steel on oxygen lines, yet costing significantly less than nickel alloy Monel.
All Mack valves can be supplied to suit various applications, in materials including bronze, stainless steel, cast iron or cast steel, and in sizes from 8mm to 600mm, and conform to ISO standards.
The range of products, including ball, globe, safety and relief valves, for the processing, transportation and storage of cryogenic fluids and gases, including LNG, is a particular area of growth.
