McDermott has named Michael McKelvy as its new President and CEO.
The engineering and construction solutions company on Tuesday (1st Feb) confirmed that McKelvy will replace Lee McIntire, who had been serving as interim CEO since June 2021.
As a result of the changes, McIntire will now continue to serve as a member of McDermott’s Board of Director.
McKelvy will also assume a position on the board.
On the news, Nils Larsen, Chairman of McDermott’s Board of Directors, said, “Michael joins McDermott at a pivotal time for the company as significant contract wins reflect increasing demand for McDermott’s diversified and integrated solutions.”
“His track record of international leadership and award-winning engineering, procurement and construction expertise will guide McDermott’s talented global workforce as the momentum builds.”
McKelvy joins the company with more than three decades of experience in the engineering and construction industry globally and previously served as president and CEO of Gilbane Building Company.
Speaking on his new role, McKelvy said, “McDermott’s business model and commercial strategy carve out a unique position to further capitalise on the changing industry dynamics and facilitate the energy transition.
