More than 275 industrial gas professionals are gathering in Dubai, UAE (United Arab Emirates) ahead of gasworld’s fifth industrial gas conference in the region tomorrow.
Held at the warm and vibrant Jumeirah Beach Hotel in the heart of Dubai, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Industrial Gas Conference 2015 will discuss and debate the ongoing development of the region’s gases industry.
The MENA region has been a hive of industrial gas activity in recent years and has developed in many different ways, despite the recent challenges across parts of the region and the economic concerns related to the falling price of oil.
Under the theme of ‘Today’s Vision – Tomorrow’s Reality’ the conference will explore emerging trends within the region, the opportunities and growth drivers ahead, and the technologies required to realise this potential.
The conference informally begins this evening with a welcome reception sponsored by the Middle East Gases Association (MEGA) and a first look at the 40 promotional booths on show at the event.
Day one of the conference officially begins tomorrow morning, opened by gasworld CEO John Raquet and Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, Secretary General of the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA). More than 275 delegates will attend the event, with a further 40+ visitors to the exhibition only – a record turnout for gasworld conferences.
Raquet commented, “Our aim for these global conferences is to gather the industrial gases community together and further enhance the understanding of the industry we work within. We aim to educate and debate where necessary, and provide a platform for companies to renew past relationships and develop new ones.”
“I am personally delighted to welcome Tom Blades, Member of the Executive Board at The Linde Group, Air Products’ Richard Boocock, and Dr. Andrew Spiers, Senior Vice-President of Nexant, as keynote speakers. Our informative agenda will see presentations from a variety of experts in their field; in fact, our difficulty is fitting so many interesting topics into a two-day programme.”
Keynote speaker Blades will provide the event’s first presentation, discussing homecare markets in the Middle East, followed by Boocock and his assessment of the Middle East opportunity. The morning will continue with talks from Dr. Spiers and Raquet himself, discussing the global chemicals industry and the MENA merchant gases market, respectively.
