GERMAN-BASED Messer Group has officially announced the re-opening of Messer Vietnam Industrial Gases Company Limited.
Presiding over the gala ribbon cutting ceremony held in Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park, the group\\$quot;s CEO Stefan Messer used this occasion to also announce plans to increase the size of the group\\$quot;s investment in Messer Vietnam from US$3.5 Mio to $6.0 Mio.
According to the company the new investment is targeted to produce high purity gases, special purpose gas mixtures and other speciality gases, which are now mainly imported. When fully operational this facility will employ more than 30 persons and can fill more than 750,000 cylinders annually.
Mr. Messer said: \\$quot;Vietnam has made great strides in the past years to take its place on the world stage. The investment environment and the enthusiasm of this youthful and vibrant country are key reasons that Vietnam has been chosen as a core future market of the group. Today\\$quot;s activities are expected to be just the beginning of a long and mutually rewarding partnership between Vietnam and the Messer Group.
Messer has been present in Vietnam for almost a decade, starting its first operations in Haiphong in 1997. The group sees Vietnam as an exciting and dynamic future market and is strongly committed to participating in the economic and social development of Vietnam.
