Messer Tehnogas AD has recently announced that it has secured the contract for oxygen supply to Serbia’s RTB Bor copper mine.

A contract for the next five years, the deal will see Messer’s Serbian subsidiary take over the existing gaseous oxygen production facilities for €2.5m and conclude a pipeline deal with the copper foundry.

The oxygen production unit has been in operation since 1978, producing up to 3300 cubic metres of gaseous oxygen per hour to keep the copper foundry operation in smooth supply.

Smaller quantities of liquid oxygen are also used at the site, for additional processes in relation to the main operations, such as back-up and cover for peak loads.
