Gulf Cryo, manufacturer of industrial, medical and specialty gases in the Middle East has ratified its footing in the region with its latest acquisition in Jordan.

Gulf Cryo recently acquired the International Industrial and Medical Liquid Gas Company. With a location situated in the heart of Sahab Industrial City, the 5000 sqm site constitutes Gul Cryo’s second plant in Jordan. Primarily producing nitrous oxide and medical oxygen, the acquisition is hoped to strengthen the diversity of Gulf Cryo’s product portfolio and significantly increase its market share.

Naji Skaf, CE for Gulf Cryo commented on the move, “Our presence in Jordan traditionally specialised in bulk gases however in 2006 we acquired Jordan Gases Co. and established our presence on the packaged gases market. Now, we have reinforced our packaged gases position further with this latest acquisition. With continued investment in the country, we look forward to increased margins utilising our existing and acquired resources.”

In addition to the extra production facility, the acquisition will also improve distribution links.

 

Active in the region:

Gulf Cryo is currently in the construction process of a new 30,000sqm Air Separation Plant in Abu Dhabi. Situated on Greenfield land, the plant will manufacture liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and liquid argon.

A two part process, phase one will see Gulf Cryo commission and erect an advanced technology ASU with remote operation. The second phase of development will see both hydrogen and acetylene gas production introduced to the plant, alongside the addition of various gas mixing and filling facilities.
