Chart Industries has shipped another two giant cryogenic storage tanks from its facility in Decin, Czech Republic.
The HT1000 models, which have been nicknamed the Chart-Ferox Giants’, can each carry 1,000,000 litres of liquefied natural gas (LNG), weighs approximately 265 tonnes, and is over 53 metres long.
The vessels are destined for Kokkola, Finland, where they will be used to store liquid nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (O2) as part of a large air separation and liquids storage plant.
This development means Chart has supplied the Kokkola plant with a total of four tanks and has provided 4,000,000 litres of storage capacity.
The tanks were first moved to the Czech port city of Usti nad Labem and will go through Germany’s Hamburg port before heading onward to Finland.
Cryogenic equipment manufacturing company, Chart Industries, has announced Robert Chen as the new President of its Distribution and Storage Asia division.
