Natural gas vehicles (NGVs) are a reality on the American road today. The move to natural gas transportation is happening and with the public and industry embracing NGVs, there are now more options for driving and fueling than the country has ever seen before. 

Natural gas makes sense. With at least a 100-year supply in America, a substantial price difference between natural gas and petroleum fuels, and the opportunity for significant energy security benefits offered by a domestic resource, businesses, consumers, and governments have realized the need to incorporate natural gas into the national transportation mix.

Natural gas is a clean, cost effective, domestic energy. Made up of over 90 percent methane, it is lighter than air and is safe with an ignition temperature of 1,080 degrees Fahrenheit.

The idea of natural gas for the transportation industry was revolutionized when communities started looking for realistic, low-emission options for their fleets. Natural gas for transportation can be supplied in liquefied or compressed form. Today, the logical choice for light- and medium-duty vehicles is compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) for heavyduty vehicles.
