NEL Hydrogen Solutions, formerly branded as a part of H2 Logic, has secured an agreement to complete the last leg in connecting the hydrogen (H2) infrastructure between the Scandinavian capitals.
The deal will see the Norway-based business construct and deliver its H2Station® to the Swedish city of Mariestad and will serve as a link between all major municipalities in the Nordic countries.
The €1m ($1.1m) turn-key H2 refuelling station installation will be delivered in the fourth-quarter of 2016.
It enables use of H2 as fuel for vehicles and creates a platform for new activities
Jacob Krogsgaard, Division Manager of NEL Hydrogen Solutions, commented, “The new H2 fuelling stations is an important step, as it enables use of H2 as fuel for vehicles and creates a platform for new activities within renewable H2 production and energy storage.”
“In addition, the new station in Mariestad will provide H2 fuelling in the strategic transport corridor between Gothenburg and Stockholm, enabling H2 vehicles to make the cross-country drive between the two cities for the first time.”
The new facility in Mariestad has been born as a result of the H2ME2 project – the largest EU funded project for H2 mobility and fuel cell electrical vehicle (FCEV) deployment in Europe – in conjunction with the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU).
