Nel Hydrogen Inc., a subsidiary of Nel ASA, has received a purchase order from EQUILON Enterprises LCC (Shell Oil Products US) for two additional H2Station® units in California.

The purchase order from Shell had a total value exceeding $7m.

The two new stations, that will be located in the Greater Los Angeles area, will expand the fuelling coverage for hydrogen powered heavy-duty fuel cell electric trucks.

“We are happy to support Shell with two additional H2Station® fuelling stations for heavy-duty trucks in California,” said Jon André Løkke, CEO of Nel.

“We look forward to assist with expansion of the hydrogen fuelling coverage in the Greater Los Angeles area which can help a transition to renewable and zero emission trucking,” said Løkke.

The purchase order was issued under the previously announced framework agreement between Nel and Shell Global Solutions International B.V.
