Analox Sensor Technology has designed a new multi-gas monitor for the food and beverage (F&B) industry, which sniffs out both carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2).
Based on the UK-based business’s existing Ax60 CO2 detector, the new, wall-mountable device incorporates a modular O2 sensor, providing an early warning of both O2 depletion and O2 enrichment as well.
The Ax60+ can use up to four alarms per sensor with a maximum of eight alarms per system. Each alarm unit has an audible sounder and a high-intensity LED strobe light, with the alarm set-points individually configurable by the operator.
Its CO2 sensor is set to trigger a low-level alarm at 1.5% CO2, an evacuation alarm at 3% CO2 and a time-weighted average alarm of 0.5% CO2 measured over eight hours. Its O2 sensor is set to trigger low-going alarms at both 19.5% and 18% and a high-going alarm at 23%. All alarms are set initially by default.
Other key features include a multi-point, multi-gas, distributed monitoring system, four-channel flexibility for multiple sensor combinations, a central display unit for remote operation and control, and built-in software for operation and maintenance tasks.
In addition, the CO2 and O2 sensors are interchangeable and can be fully integrated as part of a multi-point, multi-gas detection and alarm system.
Analox, founded in 1981 and based in North Yorkshire, UK, provides niche and custom gas detection solutions for food and beverage, commercial diving and laboratory applications. The company focuses on air gases and provides a range of both fixed and portable gas monitors, as well as original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sensors and tailored solutions.
