New hydrogen portal contract awarded

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) was recently awarded a new contract to enhance and expand its Hydrogen Codes and Standards Portal, a web-based data centre that provides information about the various codes, standards and regulations about the use of hydrogen as a fuel.

The portal was developed under an initial contract from the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), supporting the development and adoption of advanced hydrogen and fuel cell technologies

Bob Feghall, ANSI vice president and chief information officer, declared, $quot;We are very pleased that the Institute will continue to offer its expertise in support of the nation’s energy initiatives.$quot;

As the most abundant element in the universe and an alternative fuel source, hydrogen has the potential to reduce dependence on foreign oil, improve air quality and lower green house gas emissions.
