New Jersey-based Adsorptech, Inc. has achieved a power efficiency improvement to its EcoGenTM model oxygen VPSA (vacuum pressure swing adsorption) system.
Adsorptech, Inc. is a global supplier of standardised oxygen VPSA equipment and custom other adsorption gas separation technologies, from process development and molecular sieve testing, to full process and equipment design packages and fabrication.
The Adsorptech EcoGenTM model oxygen VPSA capacity range is 25-340 Nm3/hr, with applications in the fish farm, combustion air enrichment, oxy-fuel combustion, waste remediation, ozone, refinery, smelting, water purification and wastewater treatment applications, to name a few.
A new product, gasworld understands that the first EcoGen model E210 (340 Nm3/hr) is expected to be operational at an Italian oil refinery in December (2014).
Development of the unit has been continuous before going to market, with a ‘global best-in-class’ power efficiency now achieved. Apurva Maheshwary, Adsorptech Vice-President, explained, “Through the continuous innovation of Adsorptech’s oxygen VPSA process and product technology, the EcoGenTM class oxygen VPSA now achieves a global best-in-class power efficiency over any other source of oxygen.”
“This power efficiency improvement represents an important immediate step-change lowering the consumers oxygen cost. Because the cost of power is ever escalating, the power savings will forever continue growing in value for the consumer…”
Jim Flaherty, Adsorptech President and CEO, spoke of the significance of the product for the oxygen end-user and added, “This power efficiency improvement represents an important immediate step-change lowering the consumers oxygen cost. Because the cost of power is ever escalating, the power savings will forever continue growing in value for the consumer over every other source of oxygen.”
The first demonstrations of the power efficiency improvement are on the aforementioned unit in Italy and a 180 Nm3/hr EcoGen model E120 for an Israeli fish farm.
Adsorptech also provides services for its technologies such as installation, commissioning, upgrades, refurbishment, productivity and energy improvements and operations and maintenance support to a variety of industries and applications across five continents.
