Almost four years to the day since gasworld hosted its first industrial gas conference in the Middle East, the forum for discussion and debate returns to Dubai this week as the eighth international gasworld conference gets underway.
With the stunning Jumeirah Beach Hotel as the venue, and with a backdrop of Arabian sunsets, the pre-registration cocktail evening is now getting underway at the Middle East Industrial Gas Conference 2011.
The picturesque Sun Deck is tonight home to an evening of informal discussion and unity, as the sun sets behind the enchanting Burj Al Arab hotel and delegates gather ahead of an enterprising two days of conference proceedings.
From 6th – 7th December, an incredible audience of more than 200 delegates will explore the Middle East’s vast potential as an industrial gas and equipment market.
Since gasworld’s first ever conference here in December 2007, when the region was described as The New Industrial Gas Frontier, industrial gas revenue growth of around $500m has been achieved.
Such growth in four years is a sign that this emerging market is already realising its potential; with interest, infrastructure and impetus growing, this is widely regarded as just the start of an upward curve for the Middle East.
How to ride that wave of growth, while tempering investment to avoid excessive capital expenditure and over-supply, is the main topic for discussion during the conference this week.
The event’s theme of Balancing Growth and Investment comprises a comprehensive agenda that addresses all aspects of the industrial gas and equipment business, while the Executive Panel Session is an exciting new addition to the traditional and previously successful conference programme.
As the pre-registration evening begins to unfold here at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s Sun Deck, the latest projections indicate that more than 200 delegates from the global gases business will be attending over the course of the two-day event.
Air Liquide, Air Products, ROC-Praxair, Gulf Cryo, ISISAN, Delvar Afzar, INOXCVA, Herose, Union Engineering, Cryolor, VRV, Gasmedi and Calvera are just some of the companies represented at the event.
