Having filled the ‘critical supply service gap’ in Southern Africa for the last five years, Cryogas Express (Pty) Ltd has announced its imminent expansion into the Middle East market via a new partnership with Tristar, part of the Agility group.
The announcement was made this morning at gasworld’s MENA Industrial Gas Conference 2013 by Graham Hunter, Managing Director of Cryogas Express.
Based in Edenvale, Gauteng, South Africa, Cryogas Express is a joint venture company that merges the resources and more than 22 years of rapid transport expertise of Triton Express (Pty) Ltd with over 25 years of gas industry and supply chain experience of Managing Director, Hunter.
The company has been filling the critical supply service gap in the region since 2008 and is committed to point-to-point delivery of liquid argon, liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen in a market often characterised by interruptions to its cryogenic gas supply.
Now, with its newly revealed partnership with Tristar, Cryogas Express intends to roll-out this model in the growing Middle East market. He explained, “We’re launching with a partner project in Saudi Arabia and we’ll see how that goes. We believe there is a definite need for it and we’ll roll it out throughout the GCC.”
“The proposed model will be our Cryogas Express model from experience in South Africa, it will focus on current business in the Middle East, with an initial focus on the GCC countries of Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman.”
Hunter described the synergies in cryogenic transportation expertise between the two companies and the proposed service offering from the new venture, which includes the full turnkey solution of new tankers and payload of no less than 24 tonne of LOX, LIN and LAR and later in the project, CO2.
“What are we going to bring to the Middle East?” Hunter added. “First of all, safe transportation expertise. Secondly, innovation in driver management. But we will also bring a full turnkey solution for a full outsourced cryogenic transportation service ensuring safe cryogenic operating procedures.”
Established in 1998 and with headquarters in the UAE, Tristar is an integrated liquid logistics company specialising in petroleum and chemical handling and distribution.
