With its international sales increasing and the company targeting a greater global presence, MOCON has established a global network of certified permeation testing laboratories.
The network of MOCON-certified laboratories provide independent material and package performance verification, regardless of location.
Over several years now, MOCON has been actively pursuing strategic laboratory partnerships in key industrial regions around the world and, currently, has certified seven laboratories in North America, Europe and Asia. The network targets a broad range of companies ranging from multinational corporations to smaller firms which may only have need for a few validation tests per year.
In addition to MOCON’s laboratory at its US headquarters, certified laboratories have been established in Germany, China, India, Canada, UK and Switzerland.
“This is ideal for multinational companies which can now be assured that their materials or packages are tested using identical standards and protocols on three different continents”
Alan Shema, Product Manager, MOCON
Certification means that the state-of-the-art instrumentation has been installed, inspected and is maintained by a MOCON-factory authorised service technician and that the laboratory staff have been trained on MOCON corporate test lab methods/protocols and record keeping to ensure quality and equivalency.
“MOCON certification assures that companies using any one of these facilities will get the same level of service and quality they would find at any other MOCON-certified location anywhere in the world,” said Alan Shema, Product Manager for Consulting and Testing Services, MOCON.
“This is ideal for multinational companies which can now be assured that their materials or packages are tested using identical standards and protocols on three different continents.”
In conjunction with the certified laboratory network the company is also introducing the MOCON Data Check 4™ programme, which offers periodic permeation testing services for an annual flat rate. gasworld understands that the programme offers a third-party quality and control measure ideal for either small or large companies.
Further still, MOCON is now able to offer more gas testing instrumentation capabilities than ever before, thanks to its recent capture of fellow instrumentation pioneer PBI-Dansensor.
In an exclusive interview this month, MOCON President and CEO Robert Demorest told gasworld magazine that the $20m purchase of PBI-Dansensor will ‘lead to creating significant new market opportunities’.
He added, “The acquisition means that we will now be able to offer our global client base even more gas testing instrumentation than ever before. It’s just one more step in solidifying MOCON’s gold standard reputation in the global marketplace.”
