Sierra Instruments has apparently delivered an economical solution to one of the industry’s ‘great challenges’, with the launch of its new Chlorine-Trak™ 760S Thermal Mass Flow Meter.
The new product has been specifically designed to perform as an accurate and cost-effective mass flow measurement solution for chlorine injection processes found in typical wastewater treatment applications.
Given the corrosive nature of chlorine gas (particularly in the presence of moisture), finding an economical measurement solution has posed a great challenge to the industry, Sierra explains.
To answer this challenge, Sierra has designed a flow body manufactured from Kynar® polyvinylidene fluoride resin (PVDF). This material offers excellent corrosion and chemical resistance at both ambient and elevated temperatures. PVDF is also inherently stable, mechanically tough, and abrasion and flame resistant.
“This is an ideal solution for wastewater treatment,” said Scott Rouse, Sierra Product Line Director. “The Chlorine-Trak’s direct mass flow reading requires no pressure or temperature compensation and provides immunity to corrosion and accuracy for chlorine flow measurement at an economical price.”
Sierra Instruments has announced the introduction of a brand new line-up of its popular transit-time ultrasonic flow meters. The line-up now includes improved next generation Innova-Sonic® 205i and portable 210i models.
When four of the world’s leading national metrology labs took the bold step of comparing their primary moisture standards, the tool of choice, a Tiger Optics LaserTrace, performed ‘admirably’.
Due to increasing customer demand for a cost effective single gas SF6 analyser, Cambridge Sensotec has released the Rapidox 3100C IR SF6 SGM – the firm’s latest single gas mains analyser.
Month on month the gasworld website continues to be the primary portal for information, on a global scale, about our industry - be it through the provision of news and features, or information in the expansive company directory section. Launched in 2004, it is the only independent online news provider and information portal for the global industrial gas community and the larger end-user markets. The website also now incorporates news for gasworld US and Specialty Gas Report.
