Waves of celebratory music were reportedly heard to come from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China in late October, as Suzhou Oxygen Plant Co. Ltd (SOPC) celebrated its 40th anniversary.

In addition to the celebrations the company, established in May 1971, officially inaugurated its new manufacturing plant.

The new site of SOPC, which cost a total investment of RMB150m, is in the Xujiang Industrial Park of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province and has an area of 66 thousand square metres – the first phase has a covered area of 37 thousand square metres.

Invited guests to the ceremony included Mr. Yao Dongming, Deputy President of the Political Consultative Conference of the Suzhou City and the President of Industrial and Commerce Joint Association of Suzhou, and other distinguished government officials, and customers from home and abroad.

Where there’s a will…

ZHANG Fenghua, Managing Director of SOPC, first delivered a welcome speech.

“Where there is a will there is a way, and God only help those who help themselves. These two sayings have been proved with SOPC’s 40 years of history. 40 years ago, SOPC started its business with less than 30 employees; and 40 years after that, with the strong will and unremitting efforts of every SOPC member, we have achieved success in various businesses and fields,” he said.

And for the perspective for SOPC, he remarked, “Today is a new milestone of SOPC, and we will keep our practice to work even harder. With the support of all the guests here, we will transform the results we have got in the past to the starting point of today. SOPC will continue its efforts to develop further and make our best endeavors, so that we will foster a new direction and turn a new leaf for SOPC.”

In the past 40 years, SOPC has manufactured ASUs, natural gas liquefiers and other gas equipment and sold to all provinces in China and 28 countries worldwide. The sales revenue in 2011 is expected to be RMB350m. At present, gasworld China understands, the company can manufacture ASUs up to a scale of 25000 Nm3/h.

The company has formed a joint venture with Suzhou Jinhong Gases, called SIP Jinhong Gases Co Ltd, and in the natural gas business SOPC is the major shareholder of Suzhou Huafeng LNG Co Ltd.
