Medical device developer Belluscura has released the latest iteration of its X-PLOR portable oxygen concentrator (POC), marking the first POC available with a mobile app capable of being paired with digital devices.

According to its manufacturers, the device provides more oxygen by weight than any POC in its class.

Through the Nomad Health app, patients requiring oxygen treatment can connect the concentrator to Bluetooth compatible devices such as mobile phones, specific pulse oximeters and Fitbit wearables.

Commenting on the new release, Robert Rauker, CEO, Belluscura, said, “Our goal is to not only provide cutting edge medical devices, but to also improve patient outcomes with every new product we launch.”

Patients can also share data with their healthcare provider, giving doctors the ability to assess details such as oxygen usage, breathing rates, blood oxygen saturation levels, heart rate, and sleep.

“Telemonitoring of home oxygen therapy is the present not the future,” added Patrick J. Strollo, Jr, MD Pulmonologist, Non-Executive Director, Belluscura.

Home oxygen therapy using POC’s provides patients with a convenient method of delivering oxygen to support conditions such as COPD, heart failure, pulmonary fibrosis, and Covid-19.
