gasworld’s North America conference is getting underway with around 200 delegates gathering to discuss the latest industry innovations in the region, the world’s largest regional industrial gases market.

The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria in Houston, Texas, is the venue for the event, situated in the Galleria Mall where guests will have access to world-class shopping and a fine dining experience.

Over the next two days, the conference will introduce – under the theme of Tackling the Rate of Change in Our industry – subjects and discussion points that will enhance both the opportunity to address revenue growth and also costs.

The conference format has been modified to cover the subject matter via a panel of experts, with the aim of encouraging debate and discussion that will enhance attendees’ knowledge and hopefully provide new ideas for them to take back to their business.

The North American industrial gases industry is in the midst of seismic change, from the transformation in ownership and structure, to supply chain challenges and distributor business disruption. Understanding the rate of change, and more importantly making the right strategic moves to respond, will be key to sustainability and future success.

gasworld’s North American Industrial Gas Conference 2017 will initially provide insight into the changes taking place, but will also then deliver several key topics that will establish key ‘takeaways’ to help attendees and companies support future decision-making around strategies and investment.

gasworld Publisher and CEO John Raquet has kick-started proceedings with an official introduction, which will now be followed by a variety of keynote speakers, setting the scene and homing in on the hot topics making waves in the North American industrial gas market.

He opened the event, stating, “Good morning ladies and gentlemen, and for those Texans here, Howdy! A warm welcome to our conference here in Houston. I hope you enjoy the conference and the hospitality over the next two days and leave richer in knowledge, richer in friendships and richer in business.”

Sessions will include engaging panel discussions on the North American market, what’s been driving change now and in the future, and opportunities and strategies for growing a business. Delegates can also expect updates on the Praxair-Linde merger and will gain insight into the changing packaged gas model.

A variety of industry specialists will be stepping up to partake in discussion and debate throughout the day, including:
