Matheson, the North American branch of Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation Group, yesterday announced the release of a supply chain and inventory management system.

The new customer-centric system is capable of monitoring the location and operating status of gas products and other assets in real time.

Dubbed, ‘Lasso’ the device combines radio frequency identification (RFID) and pressure monitoring technology to monitor the inventory, movement and operating pressure of compressed gas cylinders.

According to Matheson, the Lasso operating software is optimised for reporting critical parameters of interest to users of compressed gases. It also has the capability to generate gas cost and usage analytics which will help facilitate management decisions aimed to reducing aggregate gas costs.
