Technology, engineering, and environmental consulting solutions company NV5 Global (NV5), announced that a leading Northeast US utility company has selected it for a $16m contract to upgrade its liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility.

The focus of the upgrades will be the liquefaction infrastructure of the facility, with NV5 providing engineering and procurement services.

Advantages of liquefying a natural gas include the ability to maximise storage capability, in addition to improving reliability and cost of gas supply following vaporisation.

Speaking about NV5’s LNG ambitions, Dickerson Wright, Chairman and CEO, NV5, said, “Utility support continues to be one of NV5’s fastest growing verticals due to the increasing demand for reliable, safe, and efficient power and the specialised nature of utility engineering.”

“Our utility-specific expertise and suite of technologies provides a unique value to our clients and a competitive advantage when pursuing the growing number of electric and gas infrastructure projects.”

The project is set to be completed in July 2022.
