Helsinge, Denmark-based company Oxymat has invested more than 10m Danish Krone in a highly automated production line with robotic and CNC technology.

The investment, by the only Danish-owned nitrogen plant manufacturer, has been made possible thanks to it securing a 100m Krone order from the marine sector.

Parts of the production are moved back to Denmark from the Slovakian subsidiary and thereby, once again, creating a number of Danish industrial jobs.

“It is a great pleasure for me to announce that Oxymat in Helsinge once again can create a larger number of jobs” says CEO and main shareholder, Jesper Sjögren and continues, ”We have decided to move parts of our production back to Denmark from our subsidiary in Slovakia. This is possible because we are investing more than 10m DKK in a highly automated production line with robotic and CNC technology.”

“We believe that these new technologies can justify the somewhat higher Danish wages. The value of production per employee will be several times greater than by the more traditional production methods. Furthermore, our 5,000 m2 large production halls in Slovakia are filled up.”

Sjögren explains, “In the last 12 months alone, we have had an order intake from the marine market of more than 100 mill DKK and with our solid sales of 75m DKK to various industrial sectors, we are now in the fortunate position that we can automate without reducing the number of staff.”

“Moreover, this way we also take advantage of our approximately 2,000 m2 production facilities in Helsinge. It makes good sense.”

Turnover for 2015 is expected to reach around 150m DKK.

Orders the past 12 months count contracts from Wärtsilä in Norway, IMC Group in Singapore, Reliance in India, Stealth Gas in Greece, Formosa in Taiwan and Odfjell of Norway to name a few.

Each of these are leading player in the chemical and gas tanker sector.

Today, Oxymat show an impressive reference list of more than 100 major marine projects.

“The market assess our technology as the next generation. The plants are delivered as Plug&Play units in frames and are extremely easy to install for the yards,” says Sjögren, who added, “Our 100 employees are highly specialised and skilled within project management, product development and service. Finally, Oxymat is by far the largest European manufacturer with more than 3,000 installations worldwide. Often, we find ourselves on the preferred supplier lists.”

While many companies outsource some of their operations, Oxymat is taking a different path – by keeping as many of its operations in-house.
