PowerCell Sweden has received a major order from a company aiming to develop fuel cell powered vehicles for the Chinese market.
Wuhan Tiger Fuel Cell Vehicle Company will launch a bus and eventually a distribution truck partly powered by PowerCell’s fuel cells.
Wuhan Tiger’s fuel cell bus was approved for production by the Chinese authorities last year.
The Chinese firm previously placed a larger order with PowerCell for fuel cell stacks and fuel cell systems in March 2017.
China is highly interesting market for PowerCell due to its size and the Chinese Government’s measures to support an increased use of fuel cell and hydrogen.
The Swedish company announced earlier this week that it is opening a sales office in China to better meet the strong increase in fuel cell technology in the Chinese market.
CEO Per Wassén said PowerCell expects demand for fuel cell technology to increase in China over the coming years.
