Praxair Distribution\\$quot;s specialty gases plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania has received ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
The ISO 17025 certification is specifically designed for laboratories seeking to verify technical competence in their testing capabilities to produce valid data and accurate results.
While the ISO 9000 standard is an internationally recognised management tool that specifies the requirements for a company\\$quot;s quality systems, it does not address laboratory competence. ISO 17025 does address this.
Demonstrated competency distinguishes which laboratories can perform specific tests or calibrations necessary to verify consistent, high quality products. Conformance to ISO 17025 helps provide assurance that supplier quality management systems will deliver products that consistently meet customer expectations on each order with processes and procedures in place to ensure consistent quality.
"The attainment of this ISO 17025 certification is another example of Praxair\\$quot;s commitment to quality and support of its goal of constant improvement," said Mike Guido, specialty gases operations director.
He continued: "With this latest certification, Praxair further strengthens its already rigorous quality system."
