Praxair has been recognised by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) as a world leader in sustainable industrial practices.
The company was named the DJSI’s World and North American Indices and is the only US-based firm in the chemical sector to be selected for those indices for 15 consecutive years. Additionally, Praxair scored highest in the North American chemical sector overall and highest in the global industrial gas sector.
DJSI selections are based on an in-depth analysis of a company’s sustainable development practices, including corporate governance, risk management, innovation, environmental management and strategy, supply-chain standards, and safety and labor practices. Emphasis is also placed on industry-specific risks and opportunities.
Praxair’s Chief Sustainability Offier, Dr. Riva Krut, said the company is proud to have been named to the DJSI indices for 15 years in a row, adding, “This recognises the consistency of our commitment to global sustainable development practices. From safety to environmental protection to our employees’ support of the communities where we live and work, sustainable development is ingrained in our culture and creates lasting value over the long term.”
Praxair has been named to the 2018 Corporate Equity Index (CEI) with a perfect score of 100% for the second consecutive year.
Praxair, Inc. has announced it has expanded its Skills Pipeline Workforce Development Programme and will be working with Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis “to help take Indiana’s workforce to the next level”.
The $70bn merger of Praxair, Inc. and The Linde Group has moved another step closer, after the registration statement filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by Linde plc on 5th June, as amended, was declared effective yesterday (14th August).
