For the seventh consecutive year, Praxair, Inc. has been selected for inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Sustainability Asset Management (SAM) Group.

Praxair who won the Silver Class accolade, sits among the top eight chemical companies and in doing so constitutes the sole industrial gases company ranked in this top tier. The Silver Class is awarded to companies who score within 5% of the highest scoring sector leader.

Furthermore, Praxair was chosen as the chemical sector mover; a title that is given to the company which has achieved the largest proportional improvement in its sustainability performance compared with the previous year.

It is perhaps no surprise then that Praxair Chairman and CEO, Steve Angel was pleased with the result. He commented, $quot;This ranking recognises the work we are doing to embed sustainable development across the entire company with the goal of continuously improving our sustainable development performance year after year.$quot;

Every year, SAM invites the largest 2,500 companies across the globe to participate in Corporate Sustainability Assessment. The measure is designed to evaluate the economic, environmental and social dimensions of the company’s business. Only the top-scoring 15% of all the companies in each of the 58 sectors are eligible for inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook.
