Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 250 company and recognised global leader in sustainable development, was awarded a Bronze Class distinction in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook 2015, which names the leading companies in the field of corporate sustainability annually.
RobecoSAM, an investment firm focused exclusively on sustainability investing, has compiled one of the world’s most comprehensive databases of sustainability information.
Praxair was one of five companies recognised in the chemical sector and was the only US company and the only industrial gases company receiving an award within this sector. Praxair has received a Silver or Bronze Class distinction each year since the yearbook was first published in 2004.
The top 15% of corporate sustainability leaders were named to the yearbook, from nearly 2,000 companies across 59 industries, and the top 10% were selected for awards. The yearbook provides an overview of the results of RobecoSAM’s annual sustainability assessment and highlights key trends shaping each of the analysed industries.
“We are proud to have received an award once again from this prestigious group,” said Riva Krut, Praxair chief sustainability officer. “Recognition like this is directly tied to our commitment to sustainability across the company, from our own resource efficiency to what we do in our communities and to the products we develop for customers. Sustainable development is an integral part of our vision, mission, values and business strategy.”
