Pre-registration is almost underway as delegates gather for a cocktail reception at the Misty Hills Country Hotel complex in Johannesburg, ahead of the opening of the gasworld African Conference 2008 tomorrow.

Industry insiders from around the world will arrive in South Africa to attend the conference, discuss the challenges facing the region, and make the most of the networking opportunities this affords.

The conference, titled ‘The African Continent – Meeting the Challenges of Supply’, has been organised to highlight the drivers for growth and the challenges faced by gas companies in the region. The event will provide a platform for information and insight for leading figures within the industrial gas community to converge and discuss both the topical and underlining issues the region faces.

Speaking exclusively at the launch of the pre-registration evening, Conference Manager Sharon Sandercock commented enthusiastically, “It looks to be a great evening ahead as a number of delegates arrive and the buzz begins to show. There’s a good vibe and all of us here at gasworld are looking forward to the start of a successful conference tomorrow morning.”

“The event will provide a great opportunity to address both the challenges and potential that Africa offers and we hope that our delegates will find this an insightful experience.”

A wide range of topics and presentations will be covered when the conference begins tomorrow, building on the success of December’s Dubai conference, which studied the emerging Middle East gases market and proved popular with delegates and companies alike.
