FasTest, Inc., a US-based connector and valve manufacturer, added three new distribution partners to its supply network back in November 2016.

The industry-leading distribution companies are Innovative Fluid Power North located in the upper Midwest, Fluid Specialties based in Oklahoma and Flow Dynamics and Automation situated in the Southeast.

gasworld spoke with FasTest’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Brent Fischmann, about the partnering process and the companies plans moving into the new year.

What do these agreements mean for FasTest’s supply network? Could this open up any new avenues?

FasTest is committed to a partnership with distribution as we grow. We are adding partners that expand our geographic coverage as well as expanding our reach to new customers and markets. In 2017, we are targeting rapid international growth, to include global support to our heating, ventalation and air conditioning (HVAC) and compressed gas customers.

How did you select your new distribution partners?

We look for partners who established themselves as successful value-added suppliers and who serve our key markets, such as fluid power, automotive, automation or HVAC-R. The best distributors for FasTest are partners with significant technical capability, who are engaged with customers to offer solutions for process efficiencies and product quality improvement.

How would you describe your relationship with the new distribution partners?

We partner with distribution. We commit to be an active manufacturing principal and provide support from digital marketing to advanced product training and technical sales support. Our distribution partners bring the customer relationships and market presence to create opportunities for our product line.

In regards to your respective sector, what challenges have you faced so far and how have you overcome them?

Often the biggest challenge in our markets is creating awareness for the quick connect technology as a tool to improve production process, whether leak testing or gas cylinder filling. Although we are the industry’s original partner for quick connectors and continue to lead in product innovation and new technology introduction, we need to meet customers when they are ready to invest in new automation or process improvements. We address this targeted marketing on the value of quick connectors to save time, processing cost and to improve throughout as well as joint effort with our channel partners to introduce FasTest as broadly as possible.

What’s next for FasTest? Is there anything you’re working on at the moment that you could share with gasworld?

2016 was a banner year for FasTest as we introduced our first ’Smart’ connectors to the gas filling and industrial markets. The ability to provide positive feedback of a connection and to link directly to customers’ process controls simplifies operations, reduces the potential for operator error and can dramatically improve the testing process. We will continue to develop this patented technology and to offer more options to improve the feedback from our connection to the customer’s part or component.

How do you plan to maintain your position in the market?

FasTest will continue on the path that has made us the market leader in innovation. We have more than 50 current patents for our products, and continue to launch new products every year for our global customers. We offer the highest quality, broadest product offering in the industry and provide the best service and support network through our worldwide distribution network.
