The RasGas LNG processing facilities at Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLC) in Qatar received an official visit from a delegation led by Belgium Minister of Economy, Energy, Science and Foreign Trade, Marc Verwilghen.

Attending a lecture on existing and future expansion projects at Ras Laffan Industrial City Complex, the minister was accompanied by a delegation comprising the Belgium Ambassador to Qatar and a number of high profile directors of Belgium majors in the energy sector.

The delegation also attended a presentation on the long-term agreement signed between RasGas and Fluxys LNG Zeebrugge terminal, a further step forward in Qatar’s drive to become the leading supplier of LNG to major markets in Europe.

There was further cause for celebration for RasGas recently, when the RL(3) COP team announced it had achieved an impressive 15 million working hours without a single lost time incident (LTI).

A company spokesman said, “This outstanding safety achievement from the RL(3) COP team is an example of the continued safety commitment and enhancement programmes operated by all RasGas teams and contractor management.”
