Ros Roca Gas liquefaction plant to be built in Ecuador

Petrocomercial and Ros Roca Indox Cryo Energy have signed a contract to build a natural gas liquefaction plant in Ecuador.

Petrocomerical, Petroecuador’s transport and distribution subsidiary, and Ros Roca Indox Cryo Energy, signed the $49.3m contract last week, agreeing to build a 200tpd plant in the Bajo Alto sector of El Oro province.

In the first phase, output will supply the provinces of Pichincha, Guayas, Azuay and El Oro, via cryogenic tank trucks.

EDC, a subsidiary of Houston-based Noble Energy and currently the only company that produces natural gas in Ecuador, will supply the plant.
